Basketball: Texas shooter commits to Utah
The University of Utah has received an oral commitment from Marshall Henderson, a 6-foot-1, 165-pound shooting guard from L.D. Bell High School in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.
Sources confirmed the commitment happened Monday morning, after Henderson returned from a tournament in Las Vegas. Henderson plays on the Dallas Mustangs club team.
The Tribune's Michael C. Lewis will have more on the commitment on The Tribune's Web site and in his University of Utah basketball blog. According to TexasHoops.com, Henderson averaged almost 25 points a game as a junior, along with five rebounds, four assists and four steals. His father, Willie, is Bell’s head coach.
Henderson has made 340 three-pointers and could become most prolific three-point shooter in state history this winter, the site said.

Except for that first year, former Utah basketball coach Ray Giacoletti had a tough time beating BYU. He couldn't wrestle many wins away from the Cougars, but maybe he can get a player from under their noses.
After watching Provo High's 6-foot-8 Brandon Davies tear it up in Las Vegas last week, Gonzaga is starting to show some big interest in the rising senior, sources told The Recruiting Trail today. Giacoletti is now an assistant on Gonzaga's staff.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Giac had a pretty good record vs. BYU. I want to say he was 4-3 against 'em.
