Baseball: BYU signs Dixie High pitcher Chunner Nyberg
BYU's baseball program has landed Chunner Nyberg, a pitcher at Dixie High School in St. George.
Nyberg signed a national letter of intent with BYU last week. His father, Brent, was a member of BYU's football team and caught passes in the Ty Detmer era.
Chunner Nyberg was the Region 9 MVP last year after posting an 11-1 record with a 1.45 earned run average and 83 strikeouts. He hit .356 at the plate.
Nyberg also plays football and wrestles for the Flyers.
