Softball: Copper Hills' Ketcher signs with Weber State
Weber State University's re-born women's softball program has a player.

New coach Tina Johnson has signed Copper Hills (West Jordan) outfielder Linnea Ketcher, the school announced earlier this week.

"Linnea is a great fit for us," said Johnson. "She is a smart kid with great speed and is a really tough out. She's the first player to sign with us from the group that we are recruiting and we are excited to begin to fill out our roster."

Ketcher lettered four times in softball at Copper Hills and earned three letters in basketball. She helped her Copper Hills team to a fifth-place finish in the 2006 state tournament.

Ketcher enters Weber State with a 3.95 high school GPA and intends to major in Nursing. Her father, Stan Ketcher, played college baseball at Brigham Young and her grandfather, Jim Ketcher, played professional baseball in the Florida State League.
