Women's golf: BYU signs two local products
Two Utah high school golfers have signed to play golf for the BYU women's golf program, the school announced Monday.

Signing with the Cougars are Kelsey Vines of Dixie High in St. George and Annika Afoa of Murray High in the Salt Lake Valley.

Vines is the younger sister of former BYU golfers Ashli, Rawley and Daphne Vines.

She played high school golf in Texas and Utah and led the Dixie Flyers to the 2008 girls 4A state championship last spring. She is currently ranked as the No. 85 junior female golfer in the world.

Afoa is the niece of former BYU standout Lachell (Simmons) Poffenberger. She finished second in the 2008 Utah Junior Golf Association player performance rankings.
