Basketball: Waterford's Monson also a top Utah junior
We mentioned a few days ago that Bingham High's 6-9 Ben Clifford and Provo's 6-6 Kyle Collinsworth were two of the top juniors to keep an eye on as basketball recruiting for the Class of 2010 begins to heat up.

Here's another big guy to watch from that class: Neal Monson, a 6-foot-10, 215-pound post player from Waterford High in Sandy.

Monson's father, Reid, who is also his coach, played for the University of Utah.

Neal Monson is drawing interest from Ivy League schools, along with Utah State and BYU and several Pac-10 schools.

The Ravens are currently 8-1 and Monson is averaging 19 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks per game despite often drawing double- and triple-teams.
