Football: Timpview WR Van Leeuwen commits to Utah State
Timpview High receiver Travis Van Leeuwen has committed to Utah State and new coach Gary Andersen.
Van Leeuwen confirmed the commitment via a text message, saying it has been a fun and crazy night.
Van Leeuwen is a 6-foot-3, 188-pound senior and a three-star recruit on Scout.com's five-star system.
He's the fifth Utah high school prep star to commit to the Aggies, joining Jordan's Tyler Larsen, West Jordan's D.J. Tialavea, Sky View's Eric Bernsten and Logan quarterback Jeff Manning.
The Web site ranks Van Leeuwen as the 145th best receiver in the Class of 2009.
He also had offers from Southern Utah and Weber State.
