Basketball: Offer extended, but has it been received?
We were assured last week by someone close to the BYU basketball coaching staff that they have extended a scholarship offer to DeMarcus Harrison, a 6-foot-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Greenwood, South Carolina.
Harrison is a junior who averages close to 25 points a game.
Apparently, though, Harrison has not received the message from the Cougars.
He told the Web site SCprepnation.com, which covers South Carolina high school basketball, that he just received his first offer over the weekend. He said it came from the College of Charleston and former Georgia Tech coach Bobby Cremins.
Harrison told us last month that he has "high interest" in BYU because he is LDS. BYU coaches have been to South Carolina several times this season to watch him play.
