Football: Former Alta QB signs with Middle Tennessee State
Remember Ryan Rosenvall, the all-state quarterback who helped lead Alta to the 5A state football championship in 2007?

Rosenvall wanted to play close to home, but Utah wasn't interested in him and BYU wanted him to walk on.

So Rosenvall took his act to West Los Angeles Junior College, where he was recently named first-team All-Pacific Conference in 2008.

Rosenvall has signed with Middle Tennessee State and will play this fall under offensive coordinator Tony Franklin, a spread offense guru. Franklin apparently say Rosenvall's highlight film and thought he would be a good fit.

Rosenvall flew to Murfreesboro, Tenn., last week and signed while he was there.

Coming out of Alta, Rosenvall was offered by Wyoming late, but the offer was later rescinded. Kansas State also showed some interest.

Good for him. These kids shouldn't have to walk on. I hope he has a great time in Tennessee. It's a pretty great state!
