Utes get a kicker/punter
The Utes have taken the unusual step of signing a kicker. Normally kickers often start as walk-ons, even the great King Louie started as a walk-on. However, more and more schools are making kickers a greater priority. The Utes apparently feel that way, giving a scholarship to Petaluma, Calif., kicker/punter Nick Marsh, who won a national punting competition in Las Vegas recently.
Like Sakoda, Marsh spent a lot of time working with former UCLA great Chris Sailer.
He'll be in the mix with Ben Vroman, who will be a senior in 2009 and Sean Sellwood, a Judge high grad who spent the last season learning from Sakoda.
