Basketball: Riverton's Dearden, Cyprus' England, sign with UVU
A couple of former Utah high school basketball standouts have signed to play for Utah Valley University next season.

Eric Dearden, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Riverton High who played last season at Western Wyoming CC, and Aaron England, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Cyprus High who played the last two seasons at College of Eastern Utah, have signed with Utah Valley.

Both Dearden and England will have two years to play for the Wolverines. Both played for the Salt Lake Metro club basketball program during their high school years.

Dearden averaged 13.7 points per game last year at WWCC. He played his freshman season at CEU.

England originally signed with Utah State before transferring to CEU. He led the Scenic West Athletic Conference in three-point shooting percentage (51.1 percent) last season.
