Basketball: Utah State lands a transfer from Air Force Prep
Tyrone White, a 6-foot-6 wing player who spent last season playing for the Air Force Academy prep school, has committed to transfer to Utah State.
White will sign a national letter of intent with the Aggies this week, according to a source close to the Utah State coaching staff.
White graduated from Jefferson High in Portland, Ore., in 2008 after helping his team win a state championship.
He recently asked for and was granted a release from Air Force.
He played 22 games for Air Force Prep last season, averaging 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists per game.
He was also recruited by Portland, Portland State, Boise State, San Francisco, Pepperdine, Florida International and Sienna after sending out tapes when he decided to leave Air Force.
