Basketball: Weber State signs 6-2 junior college star
Weber State's men's basketball program has signed a junior college star to a national letter of intent, coach Randy Rahe announced today.

Franklin Sessions, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound guard/forward from Saddleback Junior College in Mission Viejo, Calif., has signed with the Wildcats.

"We are excited with Franklin's decision to join the Weber State family," said Rahe. "We have been recruiting him for quite some time and feel he has the ability to make a positive impact on our team next season. Franklin is very athletic player who has tremendous quickness and speed. He has a high skill level and has the ability to affect the game in a lot of ways. Though he's only 6-2, 170, our fans are going to be impressed with his rebounding skills and his uncanny ability to find the ball when it is missed. "

Sessions attended Jordan High School in Los Angeles. He enrolled at Irvine Valley JC his freshman season where he played for Coach Andy Ground and helped lead his team to a conference championship.

He followed Ground to Saddleback JC for the 2008-09 season where he was named the Orange Empire Conference MVP. He averaged 14.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Saddleback reached the finals of the California State Junior College championship where it lost to Riverside CC.
