Football: BYU offers cornerback from a New York juco
BYU football coaches have offered a scholarship to Andre Kates, a cornerback at Eric Community College in Orchard Park, N.Y., according to the Web site jcfootball.com.
"I got offers from BYU, Baylor, Memphis and Washington State," Kates said. "I'm real excited about all of them because my goal is to be the number one recruit in the country."
Kates had 49 total tackles and three interceptions in 2008 and will be a sophomore at Erie in 2009. He will attend a combine at Orange Coast College in California on May 2.

"my goal is to be the number one recruit in the country." ha! Well you are on your way kid with offers from big football powers like Washington State, Memphis, and BYU. Not until you got offers from schools that play in BCS games should you consider yourself a top recruit.
