Football: Utahns shine at California combine
Timpview's Chris Badger already has a college football scholarship wrapped up (from Stanford), but he still took the time a week ago to participate in an Under Armour talent combine in Santa Monica, Calif.

Badger, who is on the ESPNU 150 Watch List, showed nice range, according to ESPN's recruiting Web site, and solid footwork. He benched 185 pounds 18 times to show he has better upper-body strength than some suspected.

Brighton's Ricky Heimuli, a defensive tackle, and Timpview defensive end Bronson Kaufusi also took part in the combine. Kaufusi has committed to BYU, while Heimuli has as many as 10 offers.

Heimuli, 290 pounds, turned heads with a 27.5-inch vertical leap. He ran a 4.91 40.

Kaufusi, 6-8 and 242 pounds, ran a 4.72 40 and posted a 32.5-inch vertical leap. At tight end, he was a major mismatch for smaller linebackers, according to the Web site.
