Volleyball: Four SLCC stars moving on
Four members of Salt Lake Community College's highly successful women's volleyball team have signed letters of intent to play for various four-year colleges next fall.
Sophomore Camilla Phillips signed with BYU and former SLCC head coach Shay Goulding. Phillips led the Bruins with 374 kills this season and played in all 122 Bruin games this season.
Sophomore Thyele Rechatiko signed with South Dakota State University. Rechatiko was SLCC's main setter and finished the season with a team-high 1015 assists and 121 kills.
Sophomore Tamara da Silva signed with Hampton University in Virginia. She led the team with 34 service aces for the season. She also finished with 165 kills.
Sophomore Jenika Bird signed with and has already transferred to Lewis and Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho. She broke the all-time block assists record this year with 125.
