Basketball: 3A MVP Bronson of Bear River signs with Dixie State
Bear River basketball star Wade Bronson, the Class 3A MVP last season after leading the Bears to the 3A state championship, has signed a national letter of intent to play for Dixie State College.
According to the Web site http://blog.saltlakemetrohoops.com/ Bronson is the 17th player from the 2009 SL Metro boys program to earn a college basketball scholarship.
Bronson averaged 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game last season on a Bear River team that had several other stars.
He was also a standout football player for the Bears early in his high school career, but opted to not play football his senior year so he could concentrate on basketball.

Nicole Brady, a 6-0 forward from Vernal's Uintah High who played last year at Salt Lake Community College, has signed with Boise State.
Brady earned honorable mention All-America status after helping SLCC reach the Region 18 tournament semifinals.
Brady played in all 31 games for the Bruins last season as a sophomore and averaged a team-high 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds.
