Football: BYU target QB Jake Heaps of Washington will announce college choice Thursday
Jake Heaps, rated as the No. 1 high school quarterback in the country from the class of 2010 by scout.com, has made his decision regarding where he will play college football. Heaps, who has BYU among his list of favorites, will make the announcement on Thursday, according to a publicist, John Davis.
In a note to media members, Davis noted, "I wanted to make you aware that Jake has recently reached a decision regarding his collegiate choice. He would like to announce that Thursday."
According to the release, as of June 1, 2009, Heaps had officially been offered scholarships from the following 26 schools: Alabama, ASU, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Kansas, LSU, Miami, Minnesota, Mississippi St, Nebraska, Notre Dame, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon State, Pitt, Stanford, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA, Boise State, Washington and Washington State.
In two years as a starter for Skyline (sophomore 2007 & junior 2008), Heaps is 28-0, and has led his team to back-to-back state championships.
