Football: PG QB Lloyd gets two more offers, will decide "very soon."
Just got a quick update on Dallas Lloyd, the quarterback from Pleasant Grove High who now has 11 offers from Division I football programs.

I wrote a few weeks ago that I believe before it is all said and done, Lloyd will be the most-recruited quarterback in state history.

Several readers disagreed, bringing up names such as former Timpview quarterbacks Mike Affleck and Danny Southwick, among others. Springville's Scott Mitchell and Pine View's James Lark also received a lot of attention.

I'm standing by my assessment, however. None of those quarterbacks received the number of offers from high-caliber programs across the country that Lloyd has received.

Sure, times are different. Thanks to the internet and the rise of Utah high school football on a national level, Lloyd has been exposed to far more programs than the aforementioned.

Anyway, I digress.

Lloyd's father, Casey, said that Dallas received two more offers over the weekend -- from TCU and Vanderbilt -- bringing his total to 11.

Vanderbilt is the first SEC team to offer, so Lloyd now has offers from the Big East (Syracuse), the Pac-10 (Stanford), the SEC (Vandy), the ACC (Miami), Conference USA (Tulsa), the Big 12 (Nebraska), the WAC (Utah State) and the Mountain West (BYU, Utah, Wyoming).

Lloyd has said that Stanford, BYU and Utah are his favorites.

"He will be deciding very soon on where he will be playing," Casey Lloyd said.
