Football: Utah State offers Mountain Crest junior QB Kuresa
With Pleasant Grove's Dallas Lloyd having committed to Stanford last week, some are starting to wonder which player will be the next great Utah prep quarterback.
Lloyd will be a senior at PG this fall.
The best quarterback who will be a junior (class of 2011) just might be Alex Kuresa, a starter at Mountain Crest High in the Cache Valley since his freshman year.
Kuresa recently received his first college scholarship offer -- from nearby Utah State.
New coach Gary Andersen apparently made the offer over the weekend.
Kuresa, 6-0 and 165 lbs., helped Mountain Crest go 10-2 and win the Region 5 championship as a sophomore last season. He completed 164 of 237 passes for 2,382 yards and 21 touchdowns.
Kuresa is the younger brother of former BYU star offensive lineman Jake Kuresa and the cousin of BYU basketball signee Tyler Haws.
His father, Dave Kuresa, an offensive lineman, played for the Aggies in the early 1980s.

Sounds like he'd be a lock for BYU if they weren't already overloaded at QB. Maybe by the time he gets there and goes on a mission, there will be an opening for him. Just go to Utah State and do Dad proud.
...or go to Utah and complete the family in-state trifecta.
