Basketball: UVU signs 6-5 forward from Bakersfield, Calif.
Utah Valley University in Orem has signed Nick Jenson, a 6-foot-5 forward from Bakersfield, Calif.
Jenson told the Californian newspaper that he will play a year for the Wolverines and then go on an LDS Church mission.
Jenson averaged 17.8 points and 11.3 rebounds last season for Centennial High in Bakersfield.
UVU just completed the transition to full Division I status. The Wolverines were 17-11 last season.

Park City volleyball star Nicole Bishop has signed to play for Northeastern University in Boston, Mass.
Bishop, a 6-foot-5 middle hitter, was a three-year starter for the Miners and set the school record in blocks.
