Basketball: Provo's Collinsworth names a Final Four
The state's best boys basketball player from the class of 2010 is apparently getting closer to making his college choice.

Provo High's Kyle Collinsworth, a 6-foot-5 combo guard, has narrowed his list to four schools, scouthoops.com reported Monday.

Collinsworth's Final Four are BYU, Stanford, USC and Virginia. As previously reported by The Tribune, all four schools have made scholarship offers to the senior.

"Those were the ones that showed the most interest in me when I was young and they were some of the first schools recruiting me and I respected that," Collinsworth told the Web site.

He will visit all four schools, and already has an official visit to Virginia scheduled for Aug. 28. Recruits can take official visits anytime after the first day of their senior year.

Layton Christian's Jasmine Porter is No. 92 on the ESPNU HoopGurlz Top 100 list that was released Monday morning.

Porter, a 6-foot-2 senior power forward, is the 18th-best power forward in the country, according to the site.

Porter has more than a dozen offers, including invitations from Utah State and Utah.

V.J. Fehoko, a linebacker from Farrington High in Hawaii, has narrowed his list to five favorites, and the list includes both Utah and Utah State.

A 5-11, 215-pound senior, Fehoko also likes UCLA, Texas Tech and Hawaii.

Huge sigh of relief from BYU fans. They have to feel confident about beating out those three. He should have taken the Kansas visit just for the experience. Once in a lifetime.
