Basketball: USC jumps into the recruiting battle for Provo's Collinsworth
There's a new player in the recruiting battle for Provo High combo guard Kyle Collinsworth.
The 6-foot-6 rising senior received a scholarship offer from USC immediately after the recent Best of Summer Tournament in Los Angeles.
The Trojans evidently were impressed by Collinsworth's floor vision, ability to get to the rim, passing and basketball sense, among other attributes.
Collinsworth has said his favorites are BYU, Kansas, Arizona State, Virginia and Stanford. But that was before USC offered, and before Virginia landed a commitment from Joe Harris, a shooting guard from Chelan, Wash.
Other schools that are still expressing interest in Collinsworth include Baylor, Colorado, Georgetown, Gonzaga, Florida, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, SMU, UCLA, UNLV, Utah, Utah State and Wake Forest.

Uh, USC? Don't they have a lot of basketball problems right now. Man, if he can land that UCLA offer...what a chance.
