Football: Will BYU have inside track on Idaho QB phenom?
There's a young prep football player from Idaho that BYU fans should probably start keeping an eye on.

Tanner Mangum is a sophomore quarterback at Timberline High in Boise and the younger brother of BYU senior Parker Mangum.

Parker Mangum went to BYU as a walk-on quarterback after his former college, St. Mary's, dropped football, but switched to receiver this season.

Tanner Mangum passed for 2,865 yards and 29 touchdowns last year -- as a freshman. He was 219-for-339 and was picked off just eight times.

MaxPreps.com recently named Mangum to its Class of 2012 Top 100 players list.

A press conference announcing 3 Cougar commits that generated some attention toward the BYU football program, not toward himself.

Good PR skills right there.

Jealous?

Go BYU!!

Oops, the article is correct. Tanner will indeed be a sophomore at Timberline this year and Parker will be a senior at BYU. They have another brother named Madison and I heard he is walking onto the BYU football team this season, but obviously I'm not the most reliable source. :)

Best of luck to all three of them. They have a great family.
