Movsisyan Hoping for Happy RSL Ending
Forward Yura Movsisyan is well aware that he's playing his last games for RSL before moving to Randers FC in Denmark, and is hoping for a storybook finish.
“I want to win something before I leave,” he said before leaving with the team for Columbus. “My main objective to stay here was to make the playoffs, and now that we made the playoffs, I don't want to leave here just by making the playoffs.
“I want to win something,” he added. “I've been playing four years in this league, it's time for me to win something really memorable. Going out with an MLS Cup championship would be the best thing I could ask for.”
Especially since things might not be so rosy in Denmark. The Randers FC team he's joining has yet to win a game this season, posting a 0-10-4 record and a -18 goal differential while sitting 10 points from relegation safety in the Danish Superliga.
“Superman to the rescue, huh?” Movsisyan joked.
Interestingly, Randers has added another scoring threat, reportedly obtaining midfielder Joseph Ato Bissah of Sekondi Hasaacas in Ghana to a one-year loan deal. Bissah will join the team during the January transfer window, according to Ghanasoccernet.com.
And though Movsisyan is leaving RSL for now, coach Jason Kreis made clear in his post-game comments last weekend that he will never shut the door on the striker returning to the club. "Let's not say never," Kreis said, "because we'll want him to come back in the worst way. We'll keep our doors wide open and our arms wide open to welcome him back, if he chooses."
