Get Chris
The wolves circling Congressman Chris Cannon have been joined by bedbug — as in "crazy as...".

As the only vulnerable member of Utah's delegation, the inscrutable — some say incomprehensible — Cannon is ambushed every two years at the GOP convention. He always manages to win in the general election, when the party's right-wing lunatics are diluted with semi-sane rank and file Republican voters who find themselves faced with a lesser-of-crazies decision.

Cannon already has two significant opponents Jason Chaffetz and David Leavitt.

Now, following the time-honored Utah County theory that the only way to beat Cannon is to out-wing nut him, a "Republican patriot" has entered the field of honor: Joe Ferguson.

Ferguson, a John Birch Society life member, says he's running to throw a spotlight on a shadowy cabal that includes President Bush and Congress that is plotting to merge the United States, Canada and Mexico into a North American Union.

In no time, the dreaded black helicopters of world government will begin landing in LaVell Edwards stadium.
