Getting satisfaction
To paraphrase Mel Brooks: It's good to be attorney general.

Yes, KSL reports, it's pretty sweet to be A.G. Mark Shurtleff. The state's top lawyer and porno fighter has been the recipient of some pretty swell swag from special interests -- Rolling Stones concert tickets and a trip to the Bahamas.

"Was it OK for him to take free concert tickets from a big company with a legal case in Utah or a free flight to a tropical island from another special interest group?" asks KSL reporter Debbie Dujanovic. "It's raised concerns and brought us to this question: As Utah's top lawyer, should Mark Shurtleff accept such freebies?"

It seems Shurtleff -- along with several state legislators -- accepted snacks and concert tickets from a mortgage company accused of a raft of questionable practices. The haul for Shurtleff alone was about $800.

It's nice Debbie D finally is doing something useful besides scaring the crapola out of Mormon parents with dumb stories about drugs, booze and pervs along the Jordan River.
