Heidi won't recognize the place

Remember Heber and Midway? Cute Swiss-influenced mountain towns where you could do a little fly fishing, nature communing -- have a beer with the locals in an uncrowded bar -- maybe hit on Heidi's older sister.

Fuggettaboutit.

Besides the WalMart that's coming to the valley like an avalanche down the mountain, Sunset Magazine is calling the Wasatch County towns an alternative to Park City -- you know, that tourist trap down the road with the altie film festival and a 20-story construction crane nesting on every corner.

According to the article, the towns are all about romping in the snow and dining out:

You get two for one, since both historic towns — once home to more cows and creameries than people — have their own charming Main Streets and side streets. But you don't get the crowds or prices of Park City.

Funny, Sunset doesn't mention the great deals at WallyWorld.
