It's about trees, stupid!

Sheesh. Is this Utah or Southern California?

Right out of the blocks, Mayor Ralph calls for a registry of domestic partners -- including same-sex couples! Apparently, he doesn't know the difference between a campaign promise and public policy.

Meanwhile, Democratic state House member Christine Johnson decides she'll make some social history by proposing a bill that would grant workplace anti-discrimination protection for employees based on "sexual orientation" and "gender identity."

Hello, Ralph and Christine: This is Utah, a state that went to a lot of trouble two years ago to rewrite its constitution to ban gay marriage. If you forgot what a real family looks like go here. Or look above right.

Becker, who is in charge of Utah's Babylon, has half a chance of success.

But Johnson's gay anti-discrimination bill will be DOA on the Hill.

Why can't she take up the Lege's time with something important, like changing the state tree from a spruce to a juniper?
