Just say no to redemption

The Utah legislators are nothing if not simplistic.

When Utah was ranked 16th in the nation for teachers disgraced for sexual misconduct, something had to be done.

The state licensing board can take away teachers' licenses permanently. But sometimes, it recommends a temporary revocation. If a teacher completes counseling and other requirements, he or she might be able to regain their license. The authorities apparently believe life is complicated and not all crimes are equal.

But Rep. Carl Wimmer, a cop, wants to force the state Education Board to permanently revoke the licenses of molesters. Meanwhile, Rep. Stephen Sandstrom is sponsoring a separate bill that would revoke a teacher's license for sexually explicit conduct with an adult student.

Glen,

Sounds like your sympathetic to child molesters. Hmmm...have a past you want to mention?
