Mean streets
Articles in the morning papers reminded us how dangerous the world is for teens.
The D-News' Sara Israelsen-Hartley recounted the 13-year-old disappearance of Spanish Fork High School student Kiplyn Davis. Police and prosecutors have been trying to find answers -- and her body -- ever since.
Richard Davis tried to recall his last moments with his daughter at a preliminary hearing for two former classmates charged with murder in connection with her disappearance:

I said Kiplyn, 'Your mother's out there waiting,' and she says, 'I haven't got my makeup on.'
So I told her to 'Get the damn makeup on and get the hell out of here.'

That's Richard Davis talking. And today, I would have said the same thing, only I would have given her a kiss and said goodbye before she left.

Meanwhile, the Trib reported Diego Mendoza's family is grieving him. The 16-year-old was gunned down outside the downtown Salt Lake Sears Sunday.
