Mitt momentum
High off a Michigan victory, Mitt is already lowering the bar in South Carolina. “I’d like to do better than my current place, which is fourth," he says.

Then, of course, he immediately put the heat on McCain: “He’s the clear front-runner. It would be an enormous surprise if he were to be unable to win here.”

But Romney got a big endorsement from the far right's favorite skank, Ann Coulter, who says:

"One clue that Romney is our strongest candidate is the fact that Democrats keep viciously attacking him while expressing their deep respect for Mike Huckabee and John McCain."

Read Coulters take on the primaries here, including her explanation of why Mitt whipped McCain in Michigan. "Democrats are notoriously unreliable voters in bad weather. Instead of putting on galoshes and going to the polls, they sit on their porches waiting for FEMA to rescue them."

On the other hand, an important part of the GOP -- the so-called Christian right -- is still splintered on supporting Mitt the Mormon. American Right to Life Action is cranking out statements that Romney's new-found pro-life stand is a sham.

"The evidence is indisputable-- Mitt Romney is lying to get Christian votes," says vice president of ARTL Action Brian Rohrbough.
