No. 1 in the Gayborhood

Move over Time magazine -- QSaltLake has picked it's Person of the Year: Newly minted Mayor Ralph.

Ralph Becker is the one candidate who took the time to sit down and draw up a plan -- a bold one -- to further the civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender Salt Lake City citizens, wrote editor Michael Aaron.

Becker never shrank from his support of equal rights for gay people, even when Rod Decker bellowed on a televised debate that gay couples would be going to city hall to basically get "married."

It also was in that same debate that Decker, quoting from a QSL story, asked the candidates if they would support a "gayborhood" in West Capitol Hill.

Does anyone know if this will increase or decrease the cost of healthcare for slc workers? Was a study ever done?
