Ouch!
A Salt Lake Tribune reader ripped the newspaper today for it's coverage of Mormon Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley's death. "Your nonstop barrage of sycophantic hyperbole makes it feel like you are the Deseret Morning News," wrote Terri Jo Lorz of South Jordan.
Boy, that hurts. In a measured letter to the editor, Lorz argues:

The DNews has not printed a similar letter, so apparently, they've got the Hinckley coverage balanced correctly.
Boy, that hurts. In a measured letter to the editor, Lorz argues:

"A vast audience knows, for example, that Hinckley was deeply involved in the Mark Hofmann (right) debacle that resulted in the murder of two innocent people. That he erected a monument to honor those killed by Mormons during the Mountain Meadows Massacre but made it clear that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints accepted no responsibility."

Terri Jo Lorz -
All I have to say is that you just sound like all those other bitter ex-members of the church that have fallen away due to your own mistakes and looked for someone (the church, its members, its leaders, etc.) to blame it on.
Anonymous, it sounds like you're a typical mormon who can only attack the messenger and never address the message.
WAS Hinckley involved in the Hofmann affair?
Dont' want to try and refute THAT allegation because it's true, huh.
The Mormon Church still owns Utah and those of us who have finally figured out that it's a fraud, that Joseph Smit lied, and that the church leaders are not men of honor and integrity will no longer sit quietly by so another generation can be enslaved by the lies of Mormonism.
Oh yeah anonymous- put that in your pipe and smoke it. Er.. ah, rather stir it in your room temperature Postum if that suits you.
I am an Airman stationed overseas and enjoy the un"deseret" version of the news! huzzah! Thanks Trib for being free online.
Just when I think the SL Tribune has completely sold it's soul to the Mormon Church, it does something to redeem itself. Perhaps it's not a lap dog like the Deseret News is after all
Where was Terri Jo Lorz when Pope John Paul died? Where was the letters to the editor criticizing the coverage of his death? Where were the wild accusations blaming him personally responsible for the Inquisition or for his church taking a passive role during the holocaust? So why so much hate towards the Trib for covering the death of leader of an organization of 13 million followers who happens to be local? The fact of the matter is that if more people were like President Hinckley or Pope John Paul the world would be a better place. We should honor the lives of those who have dedicated themselves towards making the world a better place.
You know the great thing about the newspaper is that if you don’t find an article or story interesting you don’t have to take time to read it. The press is a business and if people didn’t read or watch certain stories they wouldn’t run them. Maybe the principles of supply and demand shouldn’t apply to Mormons in Utah because it would just be another way of them keeping the “enlightened” people of the state down.
Why do you care if the church is not true? If it is NOT true, don't you have some fun life to live or something? Because much of my family is NOT members of the church, and they don't pay it much attention at all. On the other hand, they have so much fun going on in their lives, they don't have time to bash some church they don't believe in.
If you do think it is or might be true, then go to church, serve in your callings and have fun with it.
What's the freakin problem with all the people who can't
leave it alone????????
And PUH-LEASE don't say you're trying to "save" those poor Mormon Souls...because there are BILLIONS of other souls not Mormon, who you don't pay a rat's patute about!
