Paris does Sundance
Leave to a newspaper in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to break the annual story of Sundance selling out. Kevin Williamson of the Sun discovered the film festival seems more about the swag than film making.

Still, it had to be disturbing to Bob Redford that as he made his annual plea for festival goers to focus on the art — not the stars, word of Paris Hilton throwing a party was the real buzz.

Variety reports that Paris is in town to promote her movie "The Hottie and the Nottie,"— "which is definitely not playing here, nor would it ever be. (The trailer on the internet is disgusting.)"

"She's savvy when it comes to promoting herself," says Variety. "This is a great opportunity for her and her brand to embrace how people see her."

On the other hand, the Winnipeg Sun's Williamson seems to have a problem with Gary Coleman, Dustin Diamond and other cultural icons (or "has-beens" as he would have it) roaming the streets with bags of loot.

"And, really, if Screech from Saved by the Bell and Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes aren't listening to Sundance Kid Robert Redford's calls for integrity," asks Williamson, "what are the odds anyone else is going to?"
