As if the news isn't already full of stuff to scare the hell out of parents, allow me to add one more: Striking Hollywood writers are turning their talents to kids' books.

Imagine the creators of "Deadwood" or "Nip and Tuck" re-writing Dick and Jane:

"Look, Jane. See Spot run!"

"Yes, Dick. Shoot the c***s*****!"

"By the way Jane, have you considered botox?"
