Rick's losing streak
Former University of Utah basketball coach Rick Majerus, one of the winningest coaches in the game, better find another lucky sweater. It's been a bad month.

At a campaign appearance for Hillary Clinton last weekend, Majerus made noises in support of abortion and stem cell research. "I'm pro-choice, personally,"he said.

Majerus apparently simultaneously forgot that he coaches for Saint Louis University and that the Catholic Church doesn't like abortion.
Not a bit.

St. Louis Archbishop Raymond Burke, far left, who has gone on the record that he would deny Communion to pro-abortion Rudy Giuliani, immediately called for Majerus to be disciplined over his public comments, saying:

"When you take a position in a Catholic university, you don't have to embrace everything the Catholic church teaches. But you can't make statements which call into question the identity and mission of the Catholic church."

The theological misstep follows Majerus' making history when Saint Louis broke the record for fewest points in a Division I game.

A spokesman for Saint Louis University says Majerus' comments "were his own personal view. They were made at an event he did not attend as a university representative."

Majerus couldn't have been completely naive , after all, UofU played a university operated by a autocratic religion. Come to think of it, how would BYU handle Dave Rose going to a Hillary rally, let alone coming out as pro-abortion Democrat?

Update: UofU Chronicle editor Matt Piper says for all-t00-close-up view of Rick's good, bad and naked — read Sports Illustrated recent profile.
