Mitt pulled it off in Michigan. And that's good because if nothing else, it gives Utah a dog in the fight -- at least until Super Tuesday on Feb. 5.
While it wasn't the "victory of optimism over Washington-style pessimism" that Romney proclaimed -- he has hung on. Michigan only would have been decisive if Mitt -- a native and former governor's son -- lost.
If you want the nuts and bolts on how he pulled it off, try CNN or the Wall Street Journal. Newsweek sees the contest more as a setback for McCain as "Romneybot Reboots." For a much more skeptical take on it go here where the Mitt "continued to show why he's the most malleable -- and least credible -- major presidential candidate."
Now on to South Carolina, where they know a Yankee carpetbagger when they see one.
