What would Sacagawea do?

White folks take a continent away from American Indians. Then, the Shoshones, whose daughter, Sacagawea, guided Lewis and Clark, (Boy, that was a mistake.) ask for a lousy five acres of sagebrush back. How can it be so hard?

The plot happens to be where more than 200 of their ancestors -- the survivors of a brutal 1863 massacre -- are buried.

The Trib's Kristen Moulton explains.
