What's eatin' Greg?
Even in a routine speech to open the Legislative session, House Speaker Greg Curtis proved he can fly off the rails into a rant.
In the middle of a call for civility in his fellow lawmakers, Curtis deviated into a curious critique of the media.
Who pissed the speaker off this time? Paul Rolly? Rebecca Walsh? Surely, not this trifle by Bob Bernick.
Then, Curtis added, "I have come to realized that in the most difficult of times if you can honestly look at yourself in the mirror and feel good about your actions, then that is the best situation of all."
Where did that statement come from? It raises the question: Is Curtis having trouble looking at himself in the mirror?

"If I learned anything in my high school journalism class, I thought the media was supposed to be unbiased. However, I have subsequently learned that if the paper prints the writer's picture in their column, they can turn into a partisan media columnist. A fine distinction, undoubtedly used to soothe the conscience of professionalism, but overall, I guess a good distinction to know."

I repeat, What is the point of this "crawler" blog?
And to the author's point - why, when the Speaker points out that there might be a media bias against him, does that said media then attack him? Weren't you all glad when he ALMOST lost his re-election? Aren't you HOPING that he loses his next re-election campaign? You are, because that's just the sadomasochistic type of thing that y'all yearn. It isn't good "public policy" that y'all care about and it certainly isn't "reporting the news." What you fleabags want is blood. Shame on you. Get a real job.
This accusation of media bias puts the media in fits just the same way that accusation that donations = bribery insinuations infuriate the legislature. That natural tension will always be there, but there's no doubt, Walsh and Rolly, along with the Trib Editorial Board have something wedged up their collective asses when it comes to the Legislature.
Curtis hardly "ranted" in that speech, just pointed out the potential pitfalls to legislators. Wise advice during an election year. If Rolly or Walsh shows up on your caller ID, and you're not a D or Steve Mascaro, no doubt you're about to get hit in their column.
Media bias is so obvious that I don't know why its even mentioned anymore.
Who cares if the media is biased againt poor old Greg? Greg is still a jerk!
