Why do you think they call it a party?
When the Republican-controlled Legislature proves to be so many finger puppets for special interests and big business, what's a voter to do? Turn to the true blue Democrats!

Well, maybe not.

Two of the best greased members of the Lege are Senators Mike Dmitrich, (No.1 at $7,000) and Gene Davis, (No. 3 at $5,000) -- the state's top two Senate Democrats.

"I guess ethics belong to the individual -- what he thinks is right is right," says avid-golfer-on-lobbyist-dime Dmitrich.

Third Democrat in leadership Pat Jones took $400 in Billy Joel tickets from a Blue Cross lobbyist. She belatedly paid the money back Friday.

Sitting through a "Piano Man" concert probably is punishment enough.
