You lookin' at me?

It's payback time for lawmakers who supported vouchers.

The heated battle that ultimately handed a crushing defeat to the voucher program passed by GOP lawmakers is in the dim past. But revenge, as they say, is a dish that's tasty cold.

Republicans pushed the program through last year even though polls found that six out of 10 Utahns opposed it. And after $10 million was poured into the campaign for and against vouchers -- Ta Da! -- 62 percent of voters joined with the teachers' unions in rejecting the program.

The Utah Teachers Association took names and now is digging out the knuckle dusters.

State Rep. Steve Sandstrom's district was one of the only districts were a majority of voters backed vouchers. Unfortunately, Sandstrom previously acceped nearly $5,000 in campaign money from the UEA.

The UEA don't like double crossers, nah.

Former Alpine School District superintendent Steven Baugh is looking to knee-cap Sandstrom and take away his seat.

Why oh why after 10 million dollars does no one still want to talk about the elephant in the room that are the 2 REAL problems with Utahs education system? #1 We incent Mormon and non Mormon families to have children they can't afford by giving them tax benefits that mean a 3 member houshold pays more money into education than an 8 member household. Education is everyones responsibility but aren't we carring that a bit too far? Head tax or dependent limit of 3 children fixes that. #2 we have flooded the public school systems with children of illegal immigrants that we can not refuse an eduation to. With the no child left behind act our teachers are forced to try to bring these kids to grade level in a short amount of time and leaving very few resources for the rest of the class. Fix immigration and open a school that teached the english language to these kids BEFORE they enter the public system. Put the same dependant cap on welfare that we put on tax relief and let's quit incenting people to have children for more money and put the cost burden back where it belongs, on those who over use the system.

On the basis of your English, anonymous, you clearly are a product of the Utah education system.

Sandstrom needed that bribe to help pay off his $126,613 tax penalty from 2004. He's a corrupt retard and I hope his career goes down in flames.
