c dad explain to GOP
If you were a Republican state lawmaker representing arguably the most Republican county in America and your favorite candidate, Mitt Romney, was knocked out of the saddle, you'd vote for the next elephant in line, right? Party loyalty and all that.
Well, maybe not.
"c jane," a Utah County wife and daughter writes mostly of being married and pregnant on her warm-and-fuzzy blog. But this week, in one of those Internet-age "Whoops, shared-too-much-online" incidents, she outed her legislator-daddy as an iffy GOP member.
In an entry, "Hell must have frozen over," c jane wrote of watching the CNN GOP candidate debate with her mother, "The Councilwoman," and father, "The State Legislator":

Putting the investigative machinery of the Trib into gear, I fed in the above info and out popped: Rep. Stephen Clark, R-Provo, and wife Cynthia.
So, if Mitt gets popped by McCain in Tuesday's primary, look for Obama signs on a certain District 63 lawn.

Of course we are all Mitt enthusiasts. How could we not be? Not only are we Mormon, but we also like good-looking rich people. If Mitt chose Dr. Laura as his running-mate The State Legislator would be in political heaven above. However I did notice that whenever McCain spoke my dad heaved uncomfortably and shook his head. When Huckafly orated he shifted in the rocking chair. Finally when the debate concluded my dad announced something that I never thought I'd hear from my patriarch, the party-abandoning statement, "If Mitt doesn't get the nomination I am supporting Obama."
Not only did he say something that shocked the very foundations of my childhood, he also said what was in my heart. If I can't have Mitt, a man of integrity, then I will take a young politician who is inspiring the masses. But this McCain fellow . . . he does nothing for my political libido. I'd almost rather be celibate.

LOL. But I'm not all that surprised. The Utah Repubs hate Huckabee for his Bible-belt attacks on Romney's unconventional Christianity. They hate Hills Clinton even worse. And the real right-wingers hate McCain most of all.
That could mean a teeny Utah GOP shift toward Obama is possible, provided he's the Demo nominee. Bwhahaha.
