Obama's HQ: Pride regained
From Obama HQ at the SkyBox Grill in Gateway.

Despite a projection that California will go to Hillary Clinton, Obama's supporters are ecstatic over his called victories in Missouri and Connecticut. And in Utah, he's stomping Hillary — 56 percent to 39 percent. "Utah rules!," someone cheers.

Many of the people here simply are elated that a black man is doing so well in America. "I feel so proud — again — to be an American," says Carol Shifflett (right). "I'm so happy tonight."

Rachel Day (second from right) says the momentum of recent weeks is still with Obama. "If he would have had another five days in California, the outcome would have been different."

"It's all a game of delegate numbers," says her sister Sarah Day (second from left). "He'll get a lot of California delegates."

The Days, who some call the "Obama Family," and local black church congregations and their choirs threw a grassroots fundraiser last weekend that raised Obama $10,000. "It was just $20 donations, $10 for students," says Rachel.

Rachel is tired of hearing about Obama's lack of experience. "I think that's a story [the opposition] likes to constuct, there is no place that you learn how to get things done is a state legislature." He took on tough issues and got them through the Illinois Legislature, she says, "that speaks volumes about his competence."
"We don't need these old dynasty names," we need people who know how to work on the local level."

"He inspires us to lead a change," says their mom Julie Day (center).
