Update and Correction
A Deseret Morning News/KSL-TV poll put together by Dan Jones shows 84 percent
of Utah Republicans who said they are likely to vote in today's Republican presidential primary favor Romney. Wow.
Utah Democrats are nearly two-to-one in favor of Obama, the poll says. Obama leads the "most likely to vote" Democrats 53-29 percent over Clinton. The poll was completed Friday before Obama's wife beguiled a crowd at the Salt Pal
ace.
Both trends buck national polls that put John McCain ahead of Romney and Clinton and Obama neck and neck.
The D-News says Romney, a Mormon and former 2002 Winter Olympic boss, could win the largest victory ever in a major Utah election.
The record to beat: Mike Leavitt won re-election as governor in 1996 with more than 74 percent of the vote.

I'm not surprised at the number of Utahns voting for Obama. Not at all. I decided long ago to support Clinton, but she is so despised here in Utah that the numbers don't surprise. I don't get it, but that's how it is. I'm voting for Clinton, but if Obama wins the nomination that's fine, too.
Just so we're rid of Bush and his pals, and I'll be one happy camper.
Warchol, you are an embarassment to the Tribune. You are referencing a poll from LAST OCTOBER. That's not recent, and Jones released a poll just a week ago showing the numbers had flipped for Clinton. You'll also notice in that poll, the number of Democrats was not statistically significant, so you can't count on its accuracy. Can I have your job? I get tired of fixing your crummy work.
Is it possible to point out, somewhat courteously, when someone makes a mistake? I get sick of people being such douche bags (like anonymous above) when they point out a human error.
I'm being no more snide or condescending to Warchol than he is to the people he pillories on a daily basis.
And don't tell me to be corteous and then call me a douchebag, you (hypocritical) douchebag.
