Lawn signs might be cheaper
Apparently as part of his innovative gubernatorial publicity strategy, "SUPERDELL" Schanze has arranged to be fined $700 by the FAA for buzzing a Great Salt Lake cruise boat with his powered paraglider.

The FAA says Schanze "made at least three passes over and around the boat, coming within 50 feet or less" of the "Island Serenade," a dinner cruise boat.

It's the second airborne run-in with the law for Schanze. He was fined in 2006 for creating a "public nuisance" by buzzing rush-hour traffic on I-15.

One beautiful morning a year or two ago I was out on my back deck reading the paper when I heard this very annoying buzz. It came closer and closer and finally was so loud it scared the dogs, and there, right over my back yard was Super!Dell Schnauzer in his paraglider, buzzing my neighborhood at about 8:30 AM on a Sunday. So I gave him the "Bush Salute" that I always give Dear Leader when I see him on the tee-vee, and Super!Dell went away. I guess I'm lucky he couldn't reach his Glock!
