The power of words
Sen. Chris Buttars says he had no racist intent in describing a bill as "This baby is black, I'll tell you. This is a dark and ugly thing," but his words have been adopted by a white supremacist blog as a sort of battle cry, or at least a mean-spirited punch line.

White Reference Library Blog describes itself as an archival site for white nationalist books, essays, discussion and rants. In a sarcastic attack on the Holocaust Museum, the Alaska-based blogger writes:
To quote my favorite state lawmaker, Utah's Chris Buttars (R-West Jordan), "This baby is black, I'll tell you. This is a dark and ugly thing."
Who would have ever thought Buttars' vocal spasms would be repeatable, let alone quotable? It appears there's a market for the "Wit and Wisdom of Chris Buttars."

Gosh, I would hope that anyone in Alaska (or anywhere) has a prettier person to behold than Buttars.

OH, pardon me! Beauty comes from within.

In that case, I KNOW that anyone, anywhere, has a prettier person to behold than Buttars.

The white supremacists must really be desperate if they're turning to Buttars for wisdom.
