Atom Aaron out!
Utah County GOP delegates gave Rep. Aaron Tilton of Springville the bum's rush Saturday and turned to Francis Gibson.Tilton, a member of the Public Utilities and Technology Committee, was stinking up the Legislature because he also has a financial interest in building Utah's first nuclear power plant. Even in Utah's laissez-faire state house, delegates saw that as over the conflict-of-interest line.
But before you start seeing this as proof of a deity or intelligent life in Utah County, I remind you: Sen. Curt "Papa Doc" Bramble and Rep. Mike Morley, who is on the wrong end of an SEC probe, were renominated without a hitch.

Might be good to get Mike's and the SEC's side of the story rather than putting your unquestioned faith in the pseudo-journalism of the Tribune.
Click Mike's name above to read his perspective.
I personally read the entire SEC documents on the case. Along with ALL the others who lost their money with that investment firm, Mike is listed as a "relief defendent". The investment firm operators who made such poor decisions are the ones who will end up in jail, not those whose money they lost.
Remember, just because it's in the newspaper doesn't mean it's accurate.

Glad to see Tilton get nuked by his constituents. Let's hope his dumb idea to build a nuclear power plant in Utah gets the same treatment.
This deal Morley was involved in should have triggered the "it smells funny" response.
But in Utah, land of political hypocrisy and wink-wink corruption, it is always the messenger that gets the shaft -- not the money-grubbing politicians.
