Rulon gets the news
As the nation learns ever more about polygamy and Mormonism, the Eldorado FLDS polygamists are getting a belated lesson in Texas law.• The Tribune takes a close look at the mainstream Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' oft-repeated disavowal of multiple marriages. Peggy Fletcher Stack writes :
Though the LDS Church had disavowed polygamy, it is still enshrined in Mormon scripture (Doctrine & Covenants 132) and some believe it will one day be re-established, if not on Earth, at least in heaven. In his quasi-official 1966 book Mormon Doctrine, which remains in print, the late LDS Apostle Bruce R. McConkie wrote that "the holy practice will commence again after the Second Coming and the ushering in of the millennium."• Meanwhile on a CBS morning show, FLDS polygamist men, below, say they were unaware it is illegal in Texas to marry women who are under 18.
And by policy, men can be "sealed" for eternity in LDS temple rites to more than one wife, though women are permitted only a single sealing.
Three of the church's current apostles, for example, were widowed and remarried. Each will have two wives in the eternities.
One of the men, who identified himself as Rulon (none of the three offered a last name) responded, "Yes, many of us perhaps were not even aware of such a law, but yes, we have been made very aware in the last two weeks and we do reconsider -- yes.” Rulon says he has six children, ranging in age from a year to nine.

In an age where society is supposedly more sophisticated, educated, & informed than Nazi Germany then why are polygamists the targets? I certainly agree that forced, underage marriages in any society should not be tolerated but do we punish the innocent along with the guilty? Do 2 wrongs make a right? If Texas wants to crusade on some moral rampage then target all underage, teenage pregnancies & all illegal teenage sexual activities within it's borders! Punishing only the polygamists are reminiscent of ancient Mormon hatred attacks which occured in Ohio, Illinios, & Missouri! Is Lilburn W. Boggs' extermination order to be carried out in TX in 2008?!

"IGNORANCE OF THE LAW IS NO EXCUSE!"
The three unwise men never hired a good Texas lawyer, let alone picked up the Texas Penal Code which would have told them to stop the practice. A big difference between the LDS and FLDS Churches are that the former believes in free thought, and the other believes not.
Ignorance is also bot "bliss". The Lord said "the truth shall make you free." This reminds me of the Star Trek episode about "Landru", where everybody found out that he was a machine. If the FLDS people found out that there's more to life than Warren Jeffs, they will be a free people.
