Colorado's FLDS problem
Hatewatch reports that an aide to jailed polygamist leader Warren Jeffs has purchased $2 million worth of property in five locations about 175 miles southwest of Denver. Hatewatch, an online arm of the Southern Poverty Law Center, says that members of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have settled on some of the properties, which are the largest cluster of land holdings outside Colorado City-Hildale along the southern Utah state line.
Custer County Sheriff Fred Jobe says:

Well, take a cue from Utah's playbook. Do nothing. Let the old pervs marry young girls, and look away. Don't do anything about the psychological, physical and sexual abuse, and then shrug your shoulders like a petulant teenager when something dreadful happens and someone asks, "Why didn't you do anything?" Worked for Utah.
How many defense contracts directed by Orrin Hatch to Newera/Western Precision did it take to pay for all of this?
