Judging the judge
A petition to impeach and remove Judge Barbara Walther from the Texas bench is circulating on the Internet.

Walther, of course, authorized putting more than 400 children from the FLDS compound near Eldorado int0 foster care. She was overruled by higher courts and the last of the children are expected to be reunited with their parents today. The petition will be sent to Texas lawmakers.

The argument the petition drive makes against her?
Barbara Walther's actions constitute one of the greatest violation of constitutional rights in the State of Texas and she should be impeached and removed from office.

Signing this petition does not mean that you necessarily support the FLDS and their religious views.
I doubt the petition will do much to unseat Walther. Texas elects its judges, and most west Texans supported the raid and probably don't think much of Web-based Libertarians getting involved in their business.

Statist apologist and idolator (gee, are there enough of those at the Salt Lake Tribune?) writes: "most west Texans supported the [FLDS] raid and probably don't think much of Web-based Libertarians getting involved in their business."

First, as a Libertarian I support this impeachment petition, but I don't see an explicit Libertarian connection on the petition's web site. More divide and conquer on behalf of the Nanny State by Glen?

Second, who got involved in who's business first? My money is on the State of Texas and Judge Walther.
